I obtained my dental degree in 2000 and I was awarded with a PhD certificate in Prosthodontics in 2007. Following 2 years of private practice, I completed a full-time Implant Prosthodontic Fellowship post-doctoral program at The Ohio State University College of Dentistry Implant Clinic in 2009. After completing the Fellowship, I was hired as a full-time tenure-track faculty member with the Assistant Professor title at The Ohio State University, College of Dentistry in 2010. I received tenure and promoted to Associate Professor in June 2014. Then, I was promoted to Full Professor in 2019. I was involved in teaching and research in the Division of Restorative Science and Prosthodontics also practicing in the Dental Faculty during my time at The Ohio State University. I accepted a position at The University of Bern School of Dental Medicine to become the Head of Digital Dental Technologies Laboratory in September 2020. I am currently an Adjunct Professor at The Ohio oState University. I hold a special interest in implant dentistry and published more than 200 original research studies and clinical reports. I am the co-author of the Implant Chapter in the 5th edition of “Contemporary Fixed Prosthodontics” textbook by Rosenstiel et al. My activity in specialty organizations includes membership on the Editorial Board of the Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry and Journal of Dentistry, Digital Dentistry Section, and I also serve as the Chair of the E-Posters Committee in the Academy of Osseointegration. I am a member of the American Academy of Fixed Prosthodontics.

Erdem Kılıç has graduated from dental school of Hacettepe University in 2000 and obtained his PhD degree and residency in oral and maxillofacial surgery from Cumhuriyet University in 2005. He worked as an academic staff in Oral and Maxillofacial Department of Erciyes University between 2005 and 2017. He served at Maxillofacial Department of St. Georges Hos-pital, London University as a visiting fellow for 4 months in 2011. He was entitled as an associate professor in 2012. He is working in Bezmialem Vakif University, Faculty of Dentistry, Department of Oral and Maxillofa-cial Surgery since 2017. He became a professor in 2018. He is working as a visiting professor in Bezmialem Vakıf University since 2020. He continues his clinical activities at the Private KLC Dental Clinic, which he founded in Istanbul in 2022. His professional interests include 3D digital planning, augmentations of atrophic jaws and dentofacial deformities. He has more than 50 papers published in national and international journals related with his scientific field.

She received her bachelor's degree in dentistry from Ankara University in 1987, after graduating from S.H.A.P.E American High School in Mons, Belgium. She was appointed Associate Professor at the same institution in 1996 and has accepted the title of Professor since 2001.

The first edition of "Removable Partial Dentures - Treatmen Planning" was published in 2002, and the fourth edition was ready for publication in 2018. She carried out projects on biomechanical concepts in implant and/or tooth supported prostheses, force transmission, magnetic attachments, precision attachments, dental materials. She has had articles published in national and international journals. She presented at conferences and attended training courses on topics such as removable partial denture planning, conflicts in partially edentulous cases, impression methods, impression materials, precision attachments, and effective presentation skills.

Over the last 20 years, she has continued to work on the curriculum development of dental education. She worked on "ADEE (Association for Dental Education in Europe) compatibility of dental education", "Undergraduate Curriculum Development" and "Principles of Assessment and Evaluation in Dentistry". She was a co-author on the book "Assessment and Evaluation of Clinical Skills in Dentistry." In a special issue titled "Reconsidering Dental Education," she has six articles on undergraduate education. She completed certificate programs in "training the trainer" and "online trainer training" at various levels.

She was President of Education Coordination in Prosthodontics and Implantology Association, membership in the Pre-Graduate Dental Education Programs Accreditation Association Co-Ordination Commission, Ankara University, Faculty of Dental Education Coordinator, Head of the Prosthetic Dentistry Department, Faculty Board membership. She presided over the Cultural Affairs Committee.

For the first time in Turkey, she presided over the International Congress of Dental Education, was held online from January 11 to 15, 2021.

Funda Akaltan, who is a member of Ankara University Association, Prosthodontics and Implantology Association, Association of Dental Education Programme Accreditation and Osseointegration Association, is married and has a son.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) can be defined as computers that imitate the cognitive functions of human has the capacity to learn, solve problems and perform tasks that require human intelligence. As in all areas of our life, AI applications are becoming widespread day by day in the field of Medicine. Especially, the evaluation of medical images with AI applications based on Deep Learning (DL) algorithms stands out as a popular research area in the field of Medicine. In parallel with these developments in the field of Medical Imaging, efforts to evaluate digital images with AI and developing algorithms that can support physicians as Decision Support Mechanisms have intensified in the dentistry. Many studies evaluating teeth, restorations, dental and jaw pathologies such as caries, periodontal disease, cyst-tumor in 2 and 3-dimensional dental radiographs have been included in the literature. In this lecture, the definition and classification of AI and its applications in dentistry will be mentioned and a future perspective on AI applications in dentistry will be presented.

In this presentation, we will discuss how to get the best efficiency from visual elements such as illustrations, photographs, videos, animations to be used in scientific and medical presentations and publications. We will talk about how scientists should direct them to get the best out of the professionals who will prepare these images.

Dr. Serhat Aslan is a graduate of Ege University, School of Dentistry where he received his DDS degree. He attended Periodontology Program of Graduate Study offered by Institute of Health Sciences at Ege University and graduated with PhD degree at Periodontics. He maintains a private practice limited to periodontics, fixed prosthodontics and implants with focus on microsurgery, soft and hard tissue reconstruction and minimally invasive surgery. Dr. Aslan is a Visiting Professor in the Department of Biomedical, Surgical and Dental Sciences, University of Milan, Italy. He is an Invited Professor in Post-graduate Program in Periodontology and Implantology, University of Porto, Portugal.

Currently, he is the board member and treasurer of Turkish Society of Periodontology. Also, he is a member of European Federation of Periodontology, Italian Society of Periodontology and Implantology and Turkish Academy of Esthetic Dentistry. Dr. Aslan is intensely involved in mono/multi-center clinical research and development in periodontology, with special emphasis to plastic-periodontal surgery, guided bone/tissue regeneration and esthetic implant therapy.
